Suna Afshan

Director and Editor

Suna holds a BA in English and an MA in Creative Writing from Birmingham City University; in 2018, she was awarded the University's Mercian Prize for her poetry. Since, her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in the Times Literary Supplement, The London Magazine, Modern Poetry in Translation, Stand, Magma, and others. Suna’s 2020 micro-pamphlet is Belladonna, a 200-line poem, published with the Broken Sleep Books imprint Legitimate Snack. She is Co-founder and Editor-at-Large at Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, a biannual magazine of contemporary poetry first published by Pallina Press, and on the Editorial Board of Broken Sleep Books.

Naush Sabah

Editor-at-large

Naush is a writer, editor, and educator from the West Midlands. She recently completed an MA in Creative Writing, with Distinction, and now works as a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University. Her short play, Coins, was staged at The Rep and longlisted for the Pint Sized Plays competition (2019). Heredity/ASTYNOME, a double micro-pamphlet box set, was published by Legitimate Snack last year. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the TLS, Modern Poetry in Translation, Magma, and elsewhere. She is the Editor and Publishing Director of Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, a trustee at Poetry London, and Co-founder and Editor-at-Large at Pallina Press.
